The Fielden Project, 2014

The Fielden Project was a group research project and exhibition that took place at Todmorden Unitarian Church; a decommissioned church and architectural anomaly now open for community use. The group collaborated on the exhibition through individual historical research into the era of the church's opening.

We organised a community opening event on May Day with free food and ale produced and served by people living locally, produced a limited edition newspaper of all the featured work and held an events programme throughout the duration of the exhibition as we took up temporary residence in the space.

I wrote two texts which were printed on banners, one inspired by the opening procession from the old Unitarian chapel to the new church to the peel of the church bells, and the other about it's bell tower and change ringers.

Collaborators: Adrian Davies, Alexandra Jako, Anna Taylor, Eleanor Mulhearn, Erik Knudson, Laura Davies, Richard Mulhearn, Rick Tomlinson and Sarah Eyre.
