Mound / (Un)mound, 2022
Mound / Un-mound brings together new work combining image and text alongside archival material from Backburner events held between 2016-19. These positioned early work in progress alongside social and play elements that engaged members of my immediate family and community in the development of the work.
As an ongoing idea and process, Backburner allows room for not doing - the in-between time. Practice as rest; as a slowed down and open-ended thing - an ordinary part of living. In this exhibition I revisited this approach and its imprint on the performance and writing work I'm developing now.
