The Flour Basin, 2024 (work in progress)
The Flour Basin is a film that explores the role of 'the mound' in my research based practice, and the background to an ongoing work 'Mound/Un-mound' which has had various iterations so far. Starting with a mound of flour turned out of a pudding basin at a Backburner event in 2016 and retained afterwards. Slowly gathering dust, cracking and crumbling it retains its upright form but feels time-bound. My practice since then has involved an extensive exploration of the mound through material play, writing, performance, drawing and photography.
