The Valley, 2024 (work in progress)
The Valley is a film in progress based on my 2019 composition and performance, Listen in Two. Responding to the given theme 'the valley', I conducted field recordings, drawings and photography and writing connecting my violin and the body with the shape of the valley and the water eroding the space between. This lead to the production of a composed performance on two violins seated on a divided sculptural props.
Working in collaboration with filmmaker Nick Farrimond and incorporating other image and text, the performed visuals in the film are overlaid against the original performance audio recording, revealing synchronicities in time but also glitches.
